Prejmer

The only place in Romania rated as 3 stars in the famous Michelin tourist guide, Prejmer is the oldest fortified church in Bârsa Country, the first church with the oldest painted altar, the best preserved citadel in eastern Europe and is part of the Cultural Patrimony UNESCO since 1999. The circular fortress, with 3-4 meters thick walls, 12 meters high and surrounded by ditches of water, was built around the church, having the role of defense against foreign invasions.
